StepFree NYC ("the App") is developed and maintained by Kunyoung Jung. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and shared when you use the App.

Summary

StepFree NYC is designed with your privacy in mind. We collect minimal data, only what is necessary for the app to function. We do not track you, sell your data, or share your information with third parties.

Information We Collect

Location Data

The App requests access to your device's location to:

• Show your position on the map relative to subway stations and bus stops
• Find accessible subway stations and bus stops near you
• Provide walking directions to and from stations and bus stops

Your location data is processed entirely on your device. It is never sent to our servers, stored remotely, or shared with any third party. Location access is optional — you can use the App without granting location permission, though some features will be limited.

Notification Data

If you enable elevator outage alerts, the App periodically checks for equipment status changes in the background using publicly available MTA data. Notifications are generated and delivered locally on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers.

In-App Purchase Data

If you choose to leave a tip via the Tip Jar, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or transaction details.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone number)
• We do not collect device identifiers or advertising IDs
• We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs
